About ten years ago, I had the opportunity to buy my first home. I did not have every part of the future mapped out, but I have always been an adventurer at heart. When the opportunity came, I thought: why not take the next step?
I still remember walking through the door for the first time. There was joy, certainly, but also something deeper—a sense of freedom and possibility. The home sat beside a lake in Florida, and it opened a part of life my wife and I had never imagined for ourselves.
Some of our favorite memories were remarkably simple. We would take the kayaks onto the water as the Florida sky turned orange, grateful for the quiet, the view, and the life we were building together.
